Sources
Give a project context by uploading files, importing a website, or pasting text.
Sources are the material Rolit reads when it works in a project. Rolit ingests each source so the agent can search and cite it. Sources can be PDFs, images, audio, video, documents, websites, or pasted text.
Add sources
Select Add sources in the Sources panel. There are three tabs.
Upload Files
Drag files into the drop zone or choose them from your device. Rolit detects the type from the file:
| File type | Stored as |
|---|---|
PDF | |
| Image | IMAGE |
| Video | VIDEO |
| Audio | AUDIO |
| Anything else | DOCUMENT |
Each file shows upload progress. Uploaded files count toward your storage.
Website
Paste a public URL, for example https://example.com/blog, and select Import Website. Rolit scrapes the text content from the page. The page must be publicly reachable.
Copied Text
Paste a script, notes, or brand guidelines and select Save Text. Rolit saves it as a Markdown document source.
Source status
After you add a source, Rolit ingests it in the background:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Queued for ingestion | Waiting to start. |
| Ingesting | Being processed. |
| Ready | Available to the agent. |
| Failed | Ingestion failed. The error message is shown on the source. |
Manage a source
Open a source's menu to:
- View Text: read the extracted text.
- Rename.
- Archive or Unarchive.
- Delete. Deleting is permanent.
Use the checkbox on each source to control whether it is in context. Clearing it archives the source ("Remove from context"). Selecting it again restores it ("Add to context"). Archived sources stay in the list but the agent doesn't use them.
Reference a source in chat
Type @ in the chat box to mention a source, skill, or artifact. See Chat and runs.
