Chat and runs
Talk to Rolit, watch a run work, answer its questions, and stop or steer it.
Each message you send starts or continues a run: an agent session in which Rolit plans, calls tools, and replies. The reply streams in as it is produced, including its thinking and tool calls.
Send a message
Type in the box that says Ask Rolit and send. You can also:
- Dictate with the microphone button. Rolit transcribes your speech into the box.
- Attach images by pasting or choosing them. They're sent with the message.
- Pick a tool from the creation tools menu to start a specific kind of generation. See Generate media.
- Choose a model. See Choose a model.
Mention sources, skills, and artifacts
Type @ to search the project's sources and artifacts and your skills. Selecting one attaches it to the message. Rolit authorizes each mention by its ID, so renaming an item doesn't break the reference.
Modes
Open the mode settings next to the model name to change how Rolit works.
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Agent mode | Rolit takes your goal, asks clarifying questions, builds a full creation plan, and after you approve it writes the script, shows it to you, then generates images, audio, music, video, and a title end to end. |
| Interrogate | Available in Agent mode. When on, Rolit asks clarifying questions first. It is on by default. |
| Auto-accept | Skips questions and approves external actions without asking. Your choice is remembered on your device. |
Use Auto-accept carefully. Actions such as sending email or changing Calendar and Drive files go ahead without a confirmation.
Answer questions and approve actions
When Rolit needs input it shows a card in the chat:
- Clarification questions. Answer with a typed reply or by choosing an option. Select Skip question or Skip and continue to move on.
- Confirmations. Before an external action, such as Confirm Gmail send, Confirm calendar change, or Confirm Drive change, Rolit asks you to approve it. These need connected apps.
Steer a run in progress
While a run is active you can:
- Stop it with the stop button.
- Add context with the
/add hoccommand. Type/and choose Add hoc message to send extra context to the ongoing run without restarting it. Select the Add hoc chip's close button to cancel. - Change a generation model. The change applies to the active run immediately.
Runs survive reconnects
The chat connects to the run's live stream. If your connection drops, Rolit reconnects with backoff and restores the conversation, so you don't lose messages. A run is finished when it completes, fails, or is stopped.
