Rolit CLI

Slash commands

Every slash command available in rolit chat, with usage and what it changes.

Type / in the rolit chat composer to see suggestions. Use Up and Down to pick one, Tab to complete it, and Enter to run it. /help prints the full list.

Some commands change the tools the agent is given. Those changes are saved in .rolit/config.json and apply to the next chat session, because the tool list is fixed when a session starts. Commands that restart the session in place (/todo, /settings, /setup on|off, /lsp install) keep your history.

General

CommandWhat it does
/statusShows login, project, run, and stream status.
/toolsShows the local tool profile and each connected MCP server. A server that failed to connect is listed with its error.
/thinking [none|low|medium|high]Shows or sets the model's reasoning effort. It applies to the next request without restarting. /reasoning is an alias.
/contextBreaks the prompt down into system prompt, tool schemas, and messages, next to the gateway's token count for the last turn.
/compact [aggressive]Folds older history into a checkpoint at the next safe boundary instead of waiting for the automatic threshold. aggressive keeps a smaller recent tail to recover more room in one pass.
/model [model id]With no argument, opens a searchable picker over the available chat models. With an id, sets it directly. Applies to the next message.
/permissionsShows the current approval mode.
/settingsOpens workspace feature toggles: Scheduler, Todo, and Decision (all on by default) plus a Permissions row.
/todo [on|off]Shows or changes planning mode (a session checklist). Restarts the session in place.
/debugToggles the debug log view. Start rolit with --debug or ROLIT_DEBUG to capture logs.
/selectToggles selection mode: drag over transcript lines and release to copy them. Alt+M does the same.
/copy [code|all|excerpt <words>]Copies the latest response. code copies its last code block, all the whole transcript, and excerpt <words> the first paragraph containing those words. /cp and /yank are aliases.
/voiceToggles live dictation into the composer (Cmd+Z does the same). Run it again to stop.
/summary [play|on|off]Recaps the session now (same as Ctrl+S), spoken aloud when audio generation is on. on and off save the setting and apply immediately. /recap is an alias.
/approvalsReviews pending publish, send, and spend actions. See below.

Settings details

/settings scheduler|todo|decision on|off sets a toggle without opening the panel, and /settings permissions shows the approval mode. Preferences are saved per workspace.

  • Scheduler off hides the scheduling tools, blocks /schedule, and stops new local scheduled runs. Existing runs finish and saved tasks are kept.
  • Todo off removes the checklist behavior. rolit chat --todo and --no-todo override the saved preference for one launch.
  • Decision off removes the decision.apply, decision.status, and decision.cancel chat tools and stops that workspace's running decision runs. Finished batches are kept. rolit decide still works because you run it yourself.
