Install the CLI

Choose one method. Each downloads the prebuilt rolit binary and checks it against the release's SHA-256 checksum.

• macOS (Apple silicon and Intel)
• Linux x64 (glibc 2.34 or newer)
• Windows x64 (also runs on Windows on ARM through emulation)

On Linux the binary needs libasound.so.2 and libxcb.so.1. On Debian or Ubuntu, run apt install libasound2 libxcb1 (libasound2t64 on Ubuntu 24.04 and newer).

The shell script installs to ~/.local/bin. The PowerShell script installs to %LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\rolit\bin and adds it to your user PATH. Make sure ~/.local/bin is on your PATH on macOS and Linux.

UpdateCopy Anchor Link

npm and Homebrew installs show an update command when a newer stable version is available. Run it:

brew update && brew upgrade recnos-in/tap/rolit

The check runs in the background, is cached for 24 hours, and fails silently offline. It doesn't run for --json, piped, help, or version commands. Set ROLIT_NO_UPDATE_CHECK=1 to turn it off.
